FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about how selling to Blancoro works.
How do you decide what my gold is worth?
Three factors: karat purity, weight, and the live market price of gold that day. We test and weigh everything in front of you on calibrated scales and show you the math behind the number. No guesswork, no hidden deductions.
Is it safe to sell to a mobile gold buyer?
Yes — when the buyer is legitimate. We meet wherever you feel most comfortable, including public places like bank lobbies, and every step of testing happens in front of you. We also verify ID for every purchase, which is a legal requirement for licensed second-hand dealers.
Where do we meet?
Your home, a coffee shop, or a bank lobby — your choice, anywhere in Calgary. Many sellers prefer a bank lobby so they can deposit payment on the spot.
Do I need ID to sell?
Yes, government-issued ID is legally required for every purchase. This protects sellers and their items, and it's a sign you're dealing with a legitimate, licensed buyer. A buyer who doesn't ask for ID is a red flag.
How do I get paid?
Cash or e-transfer, on the spot. If you accept the offer, you're paid before we part ways — no cheques, no waiting.
Do you buy broken or damaged jewelry?
Absolutely. The value is in the metal itself, so broken chains, single earrings, bent rings, and tangled pieces are all worth real money. Condition doesn't matter for scrap gold and silver.
What if I don't like the offer?
Then you simply say no — there's no obligation and no pressure. The quote and appraisal are completely free, and you're welcome to shop the offer around or take time to think it over.
Do you buy watches without box and papers?
Yes. Box and papers increase the value, but they're not required — we authenticate the watch itself with professional equipment, including timegrapher testing. We also buy watches in any condition, including non-running.
